UPDATES

7-9-08 - The activity check is over. The results were a little disappointing, but we'll survive. Two packs can now be claimed: Icecap River and The Wastelands. There will be an advertising contest fairly soon, with some cool prizes, so keep a lookout for that.

Five years ago the wolves that first lived in the land of Imalla disappeared without a trace. There seemed to be no reason why they had gone, but the land was devoid of wolves. Prey began to flourish as less of them were hunted by the wolves and the rest of the land seemed to come out of hiding.

Then the wolves returned. It had been just a three years, but new wolves had already come to take the place of those who had abandoned this fertile land. They began to flourish and soon there five packs that dominated the area. Plenty of loners made there home in the neutral lands, where wolves were free to roam as they pleased.

Soon, however, there were battles over territories and packs. Perhaps one of the bloodiest involved three packs, though it was just a fight over who would become the new alpha. Anyu, the alpha of Secret Forest, wanted revenge on the male wolf, Demon, who was challenging the new alpha, Spirit. So, Anyu and Leafpaw headed to the territory and helped Spirit win the territory. It was a hard battle. Demon's former packmate Roslyn came to help, making things harder for everyone. Still, Spirit won the land for herself. Other such battles happened throughout the lands. It seemed as if no one could get along.

Then something terrible happened. The Darklands were discovered by some of the darker-hearted wolves in Imalla. It was the perfect place for those who wished to attack the Imalla wolves and take over. What no one realized was that this was the same problem that had driven the wolves out of Imalla in the first place.

So, three pack were formed in the Darklands, led by Zetsumei, Diablo, and Nightmare. Diablo soon disappeared - probably killed by a rogue or a rival - and was replaced by Krypt. Months later the packs in the Darklands were still very small. Zetsumei, who had been going crazy for many years as it was, suddenly seemed overcome by his insanity and claimed the densite in Krypt's packlands. He never stood a chance against Krypt and died a horrible death. Malady, a young wolf with a plan to take over both of the other Darklands packs and the Imalla packs, took over Zetsumei's old territory and began to work on creating a pack, and finding himself an heir.

So, the Imalla packs still live in peace, unaware of the plotting going on just beyond the Beartooth Mountains. All they know is that life is getting hard, and often lonely.

All they can do is try to survive.

Conditions: Once again, summer has passed and fall has come to usher winter to the land. The leaves are just beginning to turn but the air already feels cooler. There is a lot more rain now, but most of it is drizzles in comparison to the infrequent summer downpours.

IC: Territories
[ ]Dark Forest (5 sub-boards)
The deepest and darkest parts of the forest are located in this area. Little sunlight breaks through the thick branches of the trees. Running through the forest is a stream that is fed by a waterfall. There is a large lake located at the end of the stream. There is also a deep canyon located on the edge of this territory.

[ ]Icecap River (4 sub-boards)
The Icecap River Territory contains a wild and rushing river (the Icecap) that is fed by the melting ice in the mountains where it originates. There are floods during spring due to the amount of water coming from the mountains, making the river nearly twice its size. The surrounding forest is thick and rich with growth and game like deer and elk, making the hunting considerably well.

[ ]Secret Forest (7 sub-boards)
Secret Forest is a quite forest that lay to the south of a large marsh. It is calm and peaceful; the sun breaks through the trees to create a calm feeling. A river rushes through the forest, coming from the mountains beyond. The territory also contains a large valley on the east side of the forest.

IC: Outlands
[ ]Rocky Cliff
A high ledge located far away from any of the territories, it is rarely inhabited by animals of any sort. There is no nearby water and no trees for shelter. If you dig, you may find water, but that is not garunteed. Many wolves have fallen off the ledge to meet their death on the sharp rocks below.

[ ]Ice Caverns
This icey cavern is located within the nearby mountains. The walls are covered with ice crystals, but if you focus your eyes on the ice that covers the wall, you can see diamonds that were frzen there many years ago. The floor is not covered with ice, unlike the walls and the ceiling, but it is slick from the water that collects on the ground as the ice melts.

[ ]Beartooth Mountains (1 sub-board)
A series of tall, rocky hills on the fringes of the Forest of Death leads to the ruffed Beartooth Mountain range. The mountains are nearly impassible unless you are aware of the few small passes that go all the way through. Who knows what lands lay beyond these snow-capped peaks.

[ ]Forest of Death (1 sub-board)
This is a deep, dark forest where dangers lurk around every bend. There is no sunlight, only darkness. It is a frightening place, one where most wolves don't dare to tread.

[ ]Jade River (1 sub-board)
The Jade River runs through much of the forest land in the outlands, though most of it runs through the Forest of Death. This part of the Jade River runs through a smaller forest. The waters are clear and clean, and full of fish in all sizez. The nervy forest is thick with growth and is very beautiful.

[ ]Golden Beach (1 sub-board)
This is were the land meets the sea. The ocean is large. The most you can see out in the distance are the small islands off the shore, but no wolf can reach them due to the crashing waves. It is a beautiful place to watch the sun set.

IC: Darklands
[ ]The Shadowlands (2 sub-boards)
Just on the edge of the mountains that seperate Imalla lands from the Darklands is a vast territory that would be the perfect place for any darkbeast to live. Full of dark forests and cliff caves, this place has plent of dens and hunting grounds to sustain a great many wolves, though perhaps not for a long period of time. A dangerous river runs through part of the forests and bears roam the lands.

[ ]The Underworld (4 sub-boards)
On the other side of Knife River there is another vast territory, though perhaps not as large as the other four in the area. This is swamp land. If you stray of the path in the swampy areas of the territory you will surely die. Only half is swamp. The rest is a dark forest. This place has less game due to the swaps, but it still has enough to support quite a few wolves.

[ ]The Wastelands (2 sub-boards)
This territory is located on the mountains on the other side of the Darklands. These mountains, unlike the Beartooth mountains, have no snow. Most of the land is rocky and bare, though a small part of it is forested area. The trees that do grow on the rocky land have either been burned down in the recent fires or are deformed representatives of the trees that used to grow there long ago.
